Dr. Wiers is a native of the Green Bay, WI area and is a huge Packers fan. (Don’t hate him for it!)
He completed his undergraduate and dental studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Just prior to dental school he spent a semester in culinary school in Italy. He continues to enjoy cooking, especially Italian cuisine.
Upon graduation from Marquette, Dr. Wiers was selected for a position as a General Practice Resident at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cleveland, OH. While serving at the VA, he treated patients with complex medical and dental problems. Through his experiences at the VA, he learned the value and importance of not only treating teeth but treating patients and their overall health.
Resulting from a strong belief and focus on staying up to date with the profession, Dr Wiers has accumulated over 500 hours of continuing education credits in a variety of disciplines. He focuses much of his time on endodontic (root canals) and implant (tooth replacement) courses. His motivation is to be able to offer the best and most appropriate treatments to his patients.
He maintains professional membership in the following organizations; American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), and Chicago Dental Society(CDS). He serves on the Peer Review Committe, as well as the New Dentist Committee.
Dr. Wiers is a marathon and half marathon coach for Team in Training and is an active runner himself, having completed over 20 marathons and two Ironman Triathlons. He enjoys biking, golfing, skiing andcoaching others in running.
